A•Week•In•Boston
Perks of having a parent who works in hospitality branding: free hotel rooms around the country (special thanks to the Lenox Hotel). This summer’s destination of Boston, Massachusetts was both foreign and intriguing to me. The thought of strolling the idyllic, red brick streets and sipping tea sounded more than ideal. So, using my two god-given talents of over-packing and procrastination, I set out styling outfits the night before our 5am flight.
While packing for Boston I was thinking along the lines of classic and preppy, however I’m glad i strayed from that a bit because the cities vibe is so much more than a “summer home in Nantucket”.
Day I:
Outfit~BW striped long sleeve, Forever21 boyfriend jeans, Steve Madden leopard loafers, pearls, Coach messenger cross-body
Highlights~Ducking into the beautiful Isabella Steward Gardner Museum to avoid the rain.
Day II:
Outfit~H&M collared blouse, leather scalloped shorts, newly purchased fedora, Aldo sandals
Highlights~Strolling down Newberry street to window shop all afternoon, only stopping to rest for a local cappuccino on the damn cutest corner cafe I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Night II:
Outfit~Calvin Klein maxi dress, Aldo sandals, Anthropologie beaded headband, JCrew bangles
Highlights~Detouring over to the ArtBar in Cambridge via Uber chariot. The panoramic view of the sun setting on Boston, complimented by the live band singing renditions of my 40s classics nearly made me swoon.
Day III:
Outfit~Anthropologie printed frock, fedora, Fossil messenger cross-body, Aldo sandals, Toms sunglasses
Highlights~On a self-guided tour through the city we hit stops along the Freedom Trail, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts. Sweat the whole way through, thank you east coast humidity.
Night III:
Outfit~Forever21 dotted joggers, emerald/turquoise colored tank, frog clasp vintage ¾ sleeved chartreuse jacket, JCrew necklace, Aldo sandals
Highlights~After Boston food and beverage research, we traveled into the outer residential district for the middle eastern restaurant, Sarma. This Turkish hidden gem, serving only selections of small, shareable dishes, left my taste buds satisfied and begging for more.
Day VI:
Outfit~Mila blouse, Nordstrom flow shorts, Chuck Taylor’s, Michael Kors watch w/ assorted rose gold jewelry, Urban Outfitters halter bralette, Toms sunglasses
Highlights~ Soaking up the rest the historic city had to offer with a morning jog and lovely afternoon stroll down Charles street.
