Defining ones own style is no easy task and mostly because your personal style should evolve, develop, and certainly be as dynamic as you are. This is why I’ve always been drawn to streetwear. Rules become replaced by trends and boundaries are simply removed– anything goes! Exploration and experimentation become the new standards of distinction.
Having trouble deciding between styles, I combined the two into an athleisure/grunge centaur of sorts to create the ultimate cool-girl ensemble.
Combining styles occasionally translate into a forced getup, so finding common ground or a unifying article of clothing is key towards styling it just right. I chose a consistent color palette as my vessel of union. In other words, the groutfit actually came through for once.
For my top half, I grabbed my favorite moto jacket from Zara and go-to Fall transition piece: a sleeveless turtleneck sweater in charcoal grey.
I recently picked up these Aerie track pants, and I’m fully on board with the hype. I paired them with a streetwear staple: platform sneakers from Michael Kors.
Mixing genres, experimenting with styles, and creating a look all your own is what it’s all about. If you’re looking to push your styling boundaries or find some inspiration, look no further than the streets.
