Aside from the obvious invaluable experiences and knowledge I feel like studying abroad has already afforded me, I must admit one of my favorite aspects of living in London has been dressing up for class. I’m always excited to see each person file in to our AC-deprived classroom sporting their take on a monochromatic suit, obscure print combination, or vintage denim ensemble. As much as we discuss trends, I love how one garment can be translated through the lens of so many styling eyes.
This classroom ‘fit’ was brought to you by the inspiration of these killer grid trousers I picked up on the high street from Topshop clearance. The pleating detail and overflowing accordion waistline called out to me the moment I stepped off the escalator. Technically I was in the store doing research, so really it was an educational purchase…
To accommodate for London’s unseasonably warm temperatures, I balanced out the trousers with some skin exposure on top with this graphic halter from PacSun and cinched the look with my go-to vintage belt.
For my commute through tube stations and busy streets, these DSW ankle strap mini heels have become my perfect commuter shoe. Although I do wish they were open-toe, the ankle strap proves for all day comfort and compliments. From jean shorts and sundresses to these pants, I haven’t found a look they don’t go with yet!
Topped off with a pair of retro shades from H&M and a selection of rings from Free People and my FabFitFun box, this look took me straight from class to an outdoor neighborhood pub with ease.
Between living in a foreign environment (that happens to be one of the fashion capitals of the world) and constantly being inspired from peers and class content, I can’t wait to see how my style evolves and becomes refined.
