I think we can all agree that a sundress is the Beach Boys Greatest Hits album of clothing: it just feels right! The easiness and joyous nature of tossing on said piece pretty much insinuates a pleasant day, lovely weather, and with luck, an eventual popsicle in hand. Even the name is charming for God’s sake.
Turning the corner from Fashion Week and headed directly into Packer season -er, I mean Fall -the sweater devotee in me is quite excited. However, I mustn’t dive into the leaf pile before giving, dare I say, the perfect sundress its rightful recognition.
Sabotaged by my London Campus’ deadly Oxford Street location, this purchase was admittedly a Zara impulse buy. But really, I was pretty defenseless against the design concoction of all of my favorite things. Let’s review:
- Midi Length
- Chalky White Coloration
- Waist Cinch
- Cooling Fabric
- Thoughtful (and adorable) detailing
- Sassy Leg Slit
- I’m just a shopoholic
While this dress is a cheap date and would go with anything (tasteful that is), I paired it with some darling summer basics to elevate the look for evening. Adding to my recipe of favorites from dancing shoes on up: Michael Kors Annaliese platform sandals, silver hoops, and gingham hair bow.
Speaking of elevated, the backdrop for my ideal frock was none other than London’s Sky Garden. In celebration of a dear friend and graduation from our summer program, we headed to the sky scraping jungle overlooking the city we grew to love so dearly. (I’m not crying you are!!)
From far away friends and places to seasons, goodbyes are the worst, you’ll never convince me otherwise. Might as well depart in style.
