While Fall is most commonly associated with your classic earth tones, 80s redux is upon us whether we’re all on board or not. Vibrant, show-stopping, and bold, neon has most certainly taken center stage in the trend arena. From Blake Lively’s head-to-toe neon suit, Sarah Paulson’s red carpet gown, and Kim Kardashion’s body-con separates, celebrities are embracing the color for the attention grabber it is.
While this hue isn’t exactly subtle, it’s nothing we can’t handle! Shoot for accessories and smaller pieces for a test drive.
I tried dipping my toe, or entire foot, with these Public Desire booties that made a statement even in Times Square.
On top I decided to double down with a neon graphic tee from Lollapalooza and refine the look a little with my H&M blazer that happens to be a steady favorite for me since last fall. As a side note, the two compliment each other oh so nicely, balancing a look to a happy medium that’s both chic and sophisticated.
On the bottom, it’s all fun and games with this second hand, asymmetrical, fringe skirt. Not a lot could rival the loudness of my neon feet, but I did my best. With my hips subconsciously swiveling down Broadway, I think the argument has been put to rest on why such a purchase would be necessary: to be a good mood fool!
So, while their are colder and gloomier days ahead, brighten them with highlighter inspired garb. From a daring evening top in electric blue to a screaming yellow belt, try taking a step out of your style comfort zone this season and give a neon a go.
