I’ve been stockpiling my blessings lately, but to rummage one out in particular, I wanted to pay homage to my incredible internship this semester. I started working for bridge luxury brand, Tibi, just four days shy of their New York Fashion Week show; so from day one my heartbeat has not been normal! Walking straight into a bustling office of model castings and final styling walk-throughs was a whirlwind.
Besides the fact that Tibi hits my style to the T, what really solidified my adoration for the brand is the founder and creative director herself, Amy Smilovic. Seen in the office weekly, I can now confidently say Amy is the triple threat: endlessly talented, adaptive, and absolutely down to earth. Working and constantly learning from a brand with such a strong woman at the helm continues to inspire me.
One of the more glamorous and personally interesting aspects of my job involves maintaining the visual merchandising for our product in both Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodmans. To fully represent Tibi in all her glorious forms, I have the privilege of wearing the Spring collection into the department stores.
Watching over the care of this off-the-charts cool pleated dress over the weekend, I couldn’t help but try my hand in styling the midi masterpiece for the satisfying fall temperatures newly dawned on my beloved island.
I had a hard time wanted to add too many layering pieces, as this showstopper should and does do all the talking -still licking my lips over this deliciously irresistible color! The mesmerizing fabrication, silhouette, and half-hidden PVC belting detail are basically flawless, so I stuck to what I do best; accessorizing.
These Tibi snakeskin kitten heals were exactly the trend piece I was looking for, paired with the rest of the golden hoop theme I put together. Said theme curated with my 70s inspired golden earrings from Nordstrom, TJ Maxx golden hoop bucket bag, and marigold shades.
For a bit more warmth, I opted for my H&M wool duster, perfect for transitional weather and little hemline accentuation that I’m living for.
Finding my place in the industry has been my biggest professional challenge thus far, but I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to grow with a mindful, inclusive, independent, and forward brand such as Tibi. Never forget to love the work you do!!
