After a full week of recuperation, my blisters, cramps, and heart rate have recovered from the fashion marathon better known as New York Fashion Week. I had the utter privilege of dressing for three shows and attending one due to having friends that are way cooler than me. The energy and excitement in the city is truly palpable and to experience it even through the vehicle of lacing shoes and backstage steaming was magical.
While I do think the patrons of Fashion Week have somewhat eclipsed the work that SHOULD be at the forefront of attention; the style smorgasbord from the streets has always been a facet of runway season that I’m drawn to. Here’s a roundup of outfits from places near and far that got a fateful glimpse at Fall 2019 and hopefully added to the visual buffet.

This look exuded serious spy girl vibes, on a mission to print mix and walk at a brisk enough pace to showcase that leg slit.
Blazer: Topshop / Sweater: Primark / Denim: Flying Monkey / Boots: Zara
Coat: Ellison
Belt: Zara / Bag: Primark / Shades: Mango / Hat: Parisian farmers market
Mile Marker 13: Sunday, February 10th 11:45
This look was definitely my favorite all week because I think it says, ‘hi I’m chic but not trying too hard and I could totally do a lunge if you asked me to’. Playing with a color block idea, I drove home a neutral palette with a heathery grey, dark navy, and chocolate brown. Also super into this selection of sleek, quirky accessories. Let me know if you need me to hold your chapstick, my bag could probably squeeze it.
Trousers: Kith / Turtleneck: Uniqlo / Duster: H&M
Bag: FIT Style Shop / Shoes: Sam Edelman / Shades: Urban Outfitters
Mile Marker 27: Wednesday, February 13th 13:30
With the daunting task of mixing up this weeks outfit recipes, I found it was (and presently is) best practice to start with one piece and go from there. I began with a blaze orange sweater and literally found her a match in my admittedly color-coded closet. To prevent a traffic cone moment, a trench and some easy, urban basics helped tone down this look along with a subtle flex.
Sweater: H&M / Skirt: thrifted / Trench: Burberry / Shoes: Nike Cortez
Bag: Target / Shades: Nordstrom
I cannot help but feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed an entire week devoted to the countless hours, creative minds, and tirelessly working professionals that have the guts to present their four-dimensional dreams to the world. Bravo Fall 2019.
