Is there anything better than a weekend getaway? Certainly not when it involves barbecue, some of the best vintage shopping around, and a proper honky tonk. Nashville is a darling of a city dolloped with the southern hospitality we all crave and plenty of nooks and crannies awaiting exploration. From East Nash to 12 South and Broadway, this Tennessee hotspot pickpocketed our hearts and firmly obliterated our diets.
Giddy to ditch colder climates, I got to styling and packing with southern flare in mind and statement pieces in my arsenal. So please enjoy this outfit carousel because I didn’t harass my mother for these photos for nothing!

In between drooling over the Hotel Noelle’s lobby and taking serious interior notes, I couldn’t help but show off a few Rent the Runway goodies. With a blank canvas of black basics, I paired this easy See by Chloe crossbody with a denim sherpa Colovos jacket. Can’t say enough about quality pieces that weave into an existing wardrobe effortlessly.

For a night out in a northern Nashville district, I was so excited to sport this scarf wrap dress from none other than my favorite Milwaukee retro retailer, Plume! Cinched with a burgundy mohair belt and accessorized with hardware-clad booties, the look was perfect to debut this deliciously color-blocked handbag I picked up that day from East Nash vintage boutique, The Hip Zipper.

Now, I couldn’t possibly go south of the Mason Dixon without THESE boots! A legendary shoe with a legendary story; I bought these embroidered babies off of a retired Turkish belly dancer at a sidewalk sale in Manhattan. Exactly the type of necessity-purchase you should all be accustomed to me confessing to…
To let the boots do the walking and talking, I opted for an otherwise monochromatic fit. Along with a pair of trusty Flying Monkey jeans, I had to represent good ole Milwaukee with an almond Plume bag and vintage Harley Davidson leather number I can’t believe I’ve neglected from mom’s closet for so long.

And the very best for last! Doing proper hospitality research, we trekked out to a developing Nashville neighborhood to poke around the Dive Motel, a retro haven for the kitschy-inclined traveler. With Grandma’s boots and a novelty Calvin Klein jumpsuit playing supporting roles, this teal, hand-painted blazer stole the damn show. A big spicy thank you to The Hip Zipper and the vintage gods for bestowing this gem upon me!!
